Comtech Telecommunications Corp. Receives $10.4 Million of Movement Tracking System Orders for Its Mobile Data Communications Transceivers and Related Field Support

MELVILLE, N.Y., Nov 29, 2005 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Comtech Telecommunications Corp. (NASDAQ:CMTL) announced today that its Maryland-based subsidiary, Comtech Mobile Datacom Corporation, recently received multiple orders totaling $10.4 million on its Movement Tracking System, or MTS contract, with the U.S. Army. Total orders received to date against the $418.2 million contract increased to $226.2 million.
The orders include Comtech's next generation Model 2012 mobile satellite transceivers, which feature embedded Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) and secure Global Positioning System (GPS) capabilities, along with both ruggedized and control station computers. Comtech's Model 2012 Transceiver features Savi Technology's ISO-compliant EchoPoint RFID Reader, which Savi also has deployed in the U.S. Department of Defense's In-Transit Visibility (ITV) network. The new orders also include ongoing field service activities in Iraq, Kuwait, and at selected Army Bases in the United States.
