Comtech Telecommunications Corp. Announces Award of Contract for Solid State High Power Amplifier Calibration Systems Melville, New York - December 18, 1997 - Comtech Telecommunications Corp. (Nasdaq: CMTL) announced today the award to its New York operating unit, Comtech PST Corp. (CPST), of approximately $3,000,000 from the United States Air Force for a series of solid state high power wattmeter calibration subsystems operating over a broadband 1.0 MHz to 1000 MHz frequency range at power levels up to 1 KW.

These CPST solid state high power amplifier systems are used as instrumentation to accurately calibrate power sensing elements to insure that the information received by a radar system operator is accurate. Deliveries are scheduled to be completed by October 1998.

This contract is an option to the original contract awarded in January, 1996 for $1,600,000 and contains additional options of $3,200,000 which, if exercised, will result in a total contract value of approximately $7,800,000.
