Comtech Telecommunications Corp. Announces Award for Canadian Power Company Digital Troposcatter Communication System Melville, New York - March 23, 1998 - Comtech Telecommunications Corp. (Nasdaq: CMTL) announced today the award to its Florida operating unit, Comtech Systems, Inc. (CSI) of a contract valued in excess of $2,400,000 from a major Canadian Power Company for the engineering, supply and installation of a digital troposcatter communications link connecting a power production facility with a major power switching site.

The system will include Comtech's state-of-the-art 2 GHz quadruple diversity digital radio, its patented digital adaptive modem, power control to eliminate interference with other communication systems and a quality performance monitor. The troposcatter communications link will provide 4 Mb/s digital capacity to carry voice and data as well as link monitoring and control information. Delivery and installation is scheduled for September 1998.
