Deemed “Carrier-Class” since October 2003, TCS is ISO 9001:2008, ISO 27001:2005 and TL 9000-certified.
Respected in countries worldwide, the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 9001: 2008 provides the latest requirements for a quality management system (QMS) for products and processes. TCS is certified ISO 9001:2008 for both its commercial/operator (carrier) and government operations. This means that TCS has established a systematic approach to quality management and that the company manages its business to ensure customer needs are clearly understood, agreed upon, and fulfilled. To ensure conformity to these requirements, TCS has an ongoing internal audit program.
TL 9000 specifically addresses QMS for the telecommunications industry and is a metrics-driven enhancement of ISO 9001. TL 9000 certification emphasizes a company’s commitment to customer satisfaction, continuous improvement, and performance accountability.
Originally certified in 2003, TCS celebrated its ninth consecutive year of TL 9000 certification in November 2012. TCS offers the only TL 9000-certified network operations center (NOC) for wireless and VoIP E9-1-1 services in the United States.
QuEST Forum-approved auditors conduct annual surveillance audits at all major TCS sites, reviewing elements of ISO 9001 and TL 9000, as appropriate.
The SNAP 1.2M and 2.0M terminals with the SNAP Rack Mount and Embedded Baseband kits successfully completed ARSTRAT Ka Band and DISA Defense Satellite Communications System (DSCS) testing during 2010. The terminals were validated as fully interoperable with DOD networks and approved for operation on Government owned Ka Band and X Band space craft.
